The 5 greastest beers in the Northwest

Pyramid Hefe Weizen
Brewed by the original Wheat Beer Pioneers, Pyramid Hefe Weizen is left unfiltered for extra flavor and aroma. Handcrafted with 60% malted wheat (10% more than Bavarian tradition calls for), our award-winning Hefe Weizen is unsurpassed in quality and exceptionally smooth and refreshing for the whole beer experience.

One Sentence Review: A Murky brew that you can’t even look through, and this makes it fantastic, and I only thought hippies liked wheat now I guess you can call me Ocean Rainbow.

Hale’s Cream Stout
Smooth and chocolaty with a subtle “coffee-like” flavor. Hale’s Cream Stout is the black stallion that John Barleycorn rode during his midnight ride while shouting “the micro-breweries are coming!” Enjoy this fine ale with dinner or as a meal in itself. It will take you back to the British Isles, even if you’ve never been there.

One Sentence Review: Dark reddish copper, nice head and good lacing, a tasty treat…I think ill have another.

Full Sail Amber Ale
Our Amber is a sweet, malty, medium-bodied ale with a spicy, floral hop finish. It’s brewed with 2-row Pale, Crystal and Chocolate malts. And we hop it with Mt. Hoods and Cascades. We’re as proud of it today as we were back in ’89. And over the years it’s earned eight Gold Medals at the World Beer Championships. Not that we’re keeping track or anything.

One Sentence Review: Hint of chocolate & caramel, makes me want to go sailing, because I’m a sailor, ahoy I’m sailing.

Pike Pale Ale
Citrus hop aroma, rhubarb. Pours a cloudy orange, nice head. Earthy malts, pleasant hop finish The appearance is a deep amber, and the smell is a nice balance of hops/citrus….This beer tastes great on tap - very smooth with a hint of fruity maltiness that contrasts the punch of hops.

One Sentence Review: Smooth, very refreshing, this is a great beer, one that is equally adept at drinking our wetting down t-shirts on Spring Break.

Deschutes Black Butte Porter
Dark, rich and smooth. A staple in Old England with the baggage handlers for which it was named. This beer truly dispels the myths about dark beer.
IBU’s: 30 Alcohol by Vol.5.2%.

One Sentence Review: As black as Wesley Snipes and just as rich and full bodied, without the tax evasion problems.

[...] This is the blog version of doing shots during the Academy Awards every time the orchestra cuts someone off. Feel free to do shots or chug a Deschutes Black Butte Porter every time you see the quote “Climate change is real” or hear a prediction about unimaginable global warming consequences. -MJ [...]
